Extended Care for Quality of Life
Certified Home Care Agency

Letter from our president

Extended Home Care is an organization that is growing, with our patient population increasing by more than five times since 2004.  In an industry that, justifiably, has become increasingly demanding, monitored and complex each year, our extraordinary growth is attributable not to chance, but rather to the hard work, dedication and sound judgment manifested by each employee and their commitment to excellence.  It is indicative, also, of having quality leadership in all areas of our organization, with our supervisory personnel possessing the necessary experience in home health care that is vital in the management of our delivery of services.  Throughout this period of growth, however, we do not lose sight of our stated mission: quality of patient care is our primary objective and is our reason for existence.  Thus we take special pride in the comprehensive and positive survey report, recently conducted by the New York State Department of Health, indicating substantial compliance in both clinical and non clinical areas.  Our rapid growth notwithstanding, we retain our "small company" philosophy relative to the personalized care, concern and dignity offered to each patient admitted to our services.  Our employees shall continue to comport themselves  in a like manner in the future.

Among our priorities are the responsibilities of serving the "special needs" population.  Extended Home Care has become a recognized leader throughout New York City and Long Island in providing services to MRDD children and their families.  Perhaps our greatest challenge is the successful recruitment of professional nurses, therapists, social workers, and the utilization of properly trained and supervised home health aides who are capable of serving the medically complex needs of these children, thus enabling them to remain in their home environment.  I am especially proud of our employees, who so generously and unequivocally volunteer their time and effort in the participation of fund raising activities, organized by various organizations that benefit special needs children and their families.  We look forward to the continuation of this practice in 2008.

Additionally, our staff reflects the heritage of the people of New York City, with their diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds and the varied languages and dialects spoken in their homes.  To this end, we continually pursue the procurement of eclectic and qualified employees.  Benefits and opportunities for growth at Extended Home Care are extremely attractive and for this reason, we are fortunate in retaining much of the staff whom we initially hire.  A concomitant profile regarding employment opportunities is included in this report.

We at Extended Home Care look forward to continued growth in 2008. An additional branch office has been established on Staten Island and plans are in motion to open a branch in the borough of Queens.  The full implementation and utilization of our computer programs, further described on this web site in fuller detail, will facilitate our growth.  Finally - and most importantly - we shall continue to aggressively recruit the experienced quality personnel to enable us to maintain the highest possible standards of care afforded to our patients, which they so richly deserve.
